Children with Cancer UK
Marbella gala raises 40,000
Two hundred people including a number of British celebrities dined and enjoyed music at Marbella's Villa Tiberio on 3 June as part of a gala that raised more than 40,000 euros for the charity Children with Cancer UK. Football pundit Harry Redknapp was in attendance, a keen supporter of the charity and friend of the host and restaurant owner, Sandro Morelli. David Sullivan, joint owner of West Ham football club, donated 5,000 pounds in his absence and attendees could bid on autographed memorabilia from Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle. Children with Cancer UK was co-founded by Princess Diana and Eddie and Marion O'Gormon after the couple tragically lost both their children to cancer. Based at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, it supports a huge number of children and their families and helps to fund vital research.
