Estepona. The April meeting of the Costa Press Club took the form of a guided tour of Estepona led by the town's head of Tourism Strategy, Aleksandra Broch, followed by drinks and tapas at the Casa del Rey restaurant.

Members travelled from Malaga in the east to Los Barrios in the west to see for themselves the transformation brought about in the historic centre of Estepona by a beautification project which has involved adorning dull walls with murals and planting as many as a million flowers. Local children have been involved planting trees and dozens of streets have been lined with colourful hanging flowerpots. The project has also seen considerable pedestrianisation in the town centre.

The tour started at the Orchidarium and ended at the restaurant where members were addressed by the mayor, José María García Urbano, before enjoying a selection of original “pinchos”.
