British author and journalist, Tony Bryant, has recently published his latest book, Andalucía - Between Dream and Reality. Bryant, who writes for SUR in English, is an avid flamenco aficionado and is known for his extensive work within the world of the Andalusian Gypsies.

The latest offering is the writer's fourth book and it tells the story of Andalucía through the legends and myths that play a large role in the history of the province. The former musician, who has lived in Malaga for almost 25 years, researched dozens of old legends and anecdotes associated with the history of the land he now considers his home.

The book traces the history of Andalucía from the invasion of the Moors in the eighth century until present day, and includes many relatively unknown tales of miracles and legends, some of which are based on actual facts.

He pays special attention to the Gypsies, a race that has fascinated the author since he discovered his own Romany roots while researching his family history many years ago.

The book is divided into two sections: the first is a brief look through the historical events that contributed to the fascinating history of Andalucía; part two is a selection of legends encompassing religion, royalty, Gypsies, bullfighters, highwaymen, pilgrims and artists.

The book is available from Amazon in both e-book format and paperback.
