Mitchell lost his battle with neuroblastoma cancer

The stage name, One Wish Steve, derived from the musician's involvement with a UK- based cancer charity called One Wish.

Steve recorded a song to raise funds for a young boy called Mitchell, who was in need of treatment for neuroblastoma cancer.

The musician struck up a friendship with Mitchell and was heartbroken when the youngster lost his battle with the disease.

Steve had promised the boy that he would start using the stage name in order to keep his cause alive, a promise that began in Spain.

I decided to use this name because I had promised Mitchell that I would continue to raise awareness of this dreadful disease; it keeps Mitchell's name alive, Steve says passionately.
