The performance of 'A Touch of Cabaret', held at the Casa de la Cultura in Fuengirola last week, raised more than 1,500 euros for the Lux Mundi Ecumenical Centre. Staged by Mijas-based amateur show group, 'A Touch of Class', the production presented a series of comedy sketches and music and dance routines of popular stage shows and Hollywood movies. The show included a hilarious sketch of the French resistance farce, Allo Allo.
The event was attended by 130 people, including representatives from the Mijas town hall. The group's choreographe, Pauline Hulme, now intends to make this an annual event.
The staff at Casa de Cultura couldn't have been more helpful. It was definitely a joint English/Spanish event, so I am so glad I included plenty of Spanish numbers in the programme, Pauline told SUR in English.
