TIMS

New members welcomed

T.I.M.S. (The International Music Society) on the Costa del Sol is always looking to welcome new members, male or female. They perform at formal and informal concerts and at private functions. Rehearsals take place at 7pm every Wednesday in St Andrew's Church Hall, Los Boliches. Optional rehearsals take place at Lux Mundi, Fuengirola on Monday mornings. RBL Nerja

The Poppy Ball

The Royal British Legion Nerja branch held its annual Poppy Ball on 10 November. The event raised 700 euros towards the Poppy Appeal which is hoped to take the group's contribution to 10,000 euros this year. On Sunday 12 November the RBL commemorated the fallen at a Remembrance Day service at the Al Andalus hotel. Through the events each year the RBL Nerja raises money not only for the Poppy Appeal but also for the Personnel Recovery Centre in Edinburgh. Tel: 952967200 or email: ozzybaldwin@yahoo.co.uk

ADANA

Christmas fair

ADANA, the Estepona-based dog rescue and rehoming centre held its annual Christmas Fair last week at the Palacio de Congresos, and a range of stalls offered everything from secondhand clothing to bric a brac and artisanal products. Cava, tapas and home-made cakes and pastries were available. Father Christmas was there for the younger visitors. The event raised funds for the unwanted and abandoned dogs at the ADANA kennels in the Parque de los Pedregales. ADANA cares for these dogs while finding homes for them in Spain and other European countries and even in the US.

RBL Mollina

Poppytide

At the Royal British Legion Mollina branch poppy sales have raised 580 euros so far, and fundraising over Remembrance weekend netted another 620 euros. The annual trip to the Basque region raised 1,146 euros plus donations and fund raising activities brought the total to over 6,000 euros. There is a 'Bring and Buy' sale on 28 November.

The Mollina branch meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 11am at Parque La Vina, Mollina.

Lux Mundi

Christmas and fashion

Lux Mundi Torre del Mar is holding a Christmas Bazaar on 1 December at 11am. There will be have stalls selling gifts, crafts, cakes, international foods and drinks, books toys etc. They have a special Ecumencical Carol Service at San Andrés church in Torre del Mar on 16 December at 6pm. Spanish, German and English choirs will be joining in the service.

The recent Lux Mundi Autumn Fashion Show, organised by CarolynCarolyn Bowen and Julie, attracted nearly 100 international friends, who were shown 55 outfits of new and nearly new clothing and accessories.

Vogt law firm recently celebrated its Annual Cocktail Party in Club de Golf Los Naranjos. Sixty clients, brokers and bankers representatives were in attendance. Vogt Law firm was established in Marbella in 1999.
