In order to combat stress you need to make some changes to your lifestyle. The following recommendations can be used as 'preventive' measures.

Eat healthily: Avoid meals which are high in fats and introduce fruit and vegetables into your diet to boost your defences.

Don't become obsessed by stress symptoms but don't deny them either. It is important not to fall into the trap of self-complacency, but if you are experiencing serious physical or psychological symptoms it is necessary to treat them.

Rest: Sleep is essential to refresh you every day and it should take priority over social events or domestic tasks.

Take exercise: Physical activity helps to clarify ideas, eliminate stress hormones such as cortisol and to release endorphins.

Organise your time: It is important to set priorities to make best use of the day and also set time aside for yourself.
