  • The four free-testing sessions in the Mijas area start on 11 November

La Cala de Mijas Lions Diabetic Support Group has confirmed the dates for its four free-testing sessions in the Mijas area starting on 11 November.

The group will be carrying out the testing, which anyone is welcome to take part in, as an initiative linked to World Diabetes Day which is on 14 November.

Group founder and leader, Anne Bowles said, “Do consider having this quick test - it could save your live. You don't have to be overweight to be diabetic - anybody can have this condition from birth to old age.

“Many people boast that they haven't needed to see a doctor for years and never had a blood test, so how do they know if they are diabetic now or not?”

No appointment is necessary for the testing sessions, which will be held on; 11 November outside La Cala de Mijas district town hall from 11am to 2pm; 12 November at the Costa Women fair at Avanto, La Cala, from 4pm-7pm; 14 November at Age Care Charity Shop, El Zoco, Calahonda from 10.30am to 2pm and 18 November outside Mijas Pueblo tourist office from 11am to 2pm.
