Thousands of film fans were in town for Marbellas International Film Festival (MIFF) last weekend.
Now in its 12th year, the festival saw around 30 films screened and scores of film makers in attendance.
The five-day movie extravaganza then closed with a glitzy awards ceremony last Sunday evening.
Among the guests were British actors Timothy Spall, Michelle Collins, and Terry Stone, and the son of George Best, Calum Best.
Festival Director Mac Chakaveh, told SUR in English: “The 12th edition of the MIFF came to a close during a glamorous gala awards ceremony recognising the talents of film makers from across the globe.
“The presence of so many talented film makers and actors at the festival this year is the proof that the festival is continuing in its success and we shall look forward to 2018 with bigger and better events.”
Independent films were screened at the Teatro Goya in Puerto Banús, while a number of workshops, seminars and networking events were held at the H10 Andalucía Plaza Hotel.
The closing night of the festival saw the Gala Awards Dinner take place at the H10, where guests dressed in black ties and sleek dresses to find out who won in the different categories, before enjoying cocktails, live music and the rest of the closing ceremony.
The festival was launched in 2006 and works closely with the Marbella Town Hall and Tourist Board, Marbella Film Office and the Andalucía Film Commission.
