The Los Boliches based Knit and Natter group presented the Hospital Materno Infantil (Malaga maternity hospital) with more than 1,200 handmade baby garments last week.
A selection of colourful bonnets, boots, suits, jumpers, blankets and covers had been knitted and crocheted by the expat knitting group, all of which are destined for the newborn babies of under privileged families, especially those born prematurely.
More than 200 of the garments were knitted by the newly formed Alhaurín el Grande-based Knit and Natter group.
During the presentation attended by several nurses from the hospital and members of the La Cala de Mijas Lions Club - one of the group's main donators. A representative for the hospital said that they were extremely grateful for the knitters continued support.
The knitters also presented approximately 100 knitted hats to the children's cancer unit.
