British television programme, Superfoods: The real Story, visited one of Almuñécars mango plantations last week with presenter, Kate Quilton.

The El Pinero farm in Almuñécar received the visit and, with the help of the farms owner, Antonio Guerrero, the Channel Four crew filmed a lengthy report about the subtropical fruit, which has been grown on the Costa Tropical for a number of years.

It was a fantastic experience and we were able to show Kate Quilton the different crops that grow on the farm and in particular our mangoes, said Guerrero, who highlighted that the crew and Kate were friendly and left a good impression. The mango grower added that the visit by Quilton and the Superfoods: The Real Story programme will help with the promotion of one of the most important fruits in the area, which, in the last few years has witnessed important growth and looks like it will continue to grow.

Superfoods: The Real Story has been running since June 2015 on Channel Four and each episode looks at a different type of food considered to be a superfood. Channel Four has not yet said when the Almuñécar mango episode will be aired.
