  • The charity's event raised around 7,000 euros for their sponsored children

The Dishka project, which currently supports 225 orphaned, single-parented and HIV-positive children from below the poverty line in India, hosted a fundraising dinner in the Babilonia restaurant at Olivia Valere in Marbella on 27 May.

The event was organised by Dr Jovanka Manojlovic and a team of volunteers for a third consecutive year. Approximately 170 guests of many nationalities and professions came from around the Costa del Sol to attend the three-course dinner.

Numerous gifts were donated by local artists, clinics, hospitals, restaurants and jewellery shops, and by the end of the night 7,000 euros had been raised for the project.

The charity, which aims to help children grow into independent and self-reliant adults, will use the funds to provide their individually sponsored children with education in private schools, uniforms and books, until they earn their first salary.
