ADANA the Estepona based dog rescue and rehoming charity is now totally dependent on solar energy to power all its needs after the completion of a large scale solar installation by local company INOVIA
The installation took a month to complete and means that the charity will be able to save around 6,000 euros a year on diesel fuel for the generators on which it had previously been reliant.
ADANA President Mary Page said that the success of the scheme was due to the expertise of the treasurer Reg Winkworth, a qualified electrician. "Because of his experience and knowledge, Reg was able to plan and supervise the whole process. We take in and rehome abandoned dogs in the Estepona and Manilva area and have always been conscious of wider environmental implications. Our kennels are situated in an area of outstanding beauty and we want to help maintain the integrity of that environment," she added.
