Government denies claims that it will buy water from Spain

The Gibraltar government has announced that it has no plans to buy water from the Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, following reports in the Spanish press that Gibraltar was considering a contract of this type. An article last ... received no such proposal and in any case has no intention of reaching any agreements which make Gibraltar dependent on any Spanish public authority for any essential services. Gibraltar does have some areas of collaboration with the Mancomunidad ... the Spanish government had not expressed any opposition to collaboration.
