Government puts out to tender the contract for 'big brother' facial recognition borders

The Interior ministry has put out to tender a contract for facial recognition border control technology. The government is offering 4.1 million euros for the design and running of the Spanish version of the Entry/Exit System (EES), under new EU ... addition it should automatically calculate " the authorised length of stay" and "generate alerts". It will use biometric and facial recognition technology and cover both airports and ports when up and running.
