Cities belong to the birds now

...killing machines and their annoying noise with them. The towns now belong to the birds, who can move around in peace, with no fear of the deadly wheels of the cars, and sing without having to compete with the constant thunder of our everyday bustle. The ... reminder that life goes on, and we wonder if they were there anyway, but we just couldn’t hear them because of the noise, or whether they have come closer because they feel braver when we’re not there. “Animals that we only used to see in parks and

Keep it down, please

Rachel Haynes

The mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, suggested at an event last week that the way to solve the problem of noise pollution in the city centre was for people to keep their voices down. "In the Mediterranean culture we speak in very loud ... to speak even louder to be heard.
