Irish communities along the Costa del Sol came out in force last weekend to celebrate the feast day in honour of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Huge street parties were held in the coastal towns, where armies of green floppy hats ... enjoyed live music and entertainment washed down with a copious supply of Guinness. Hundreds of revellers packed the Plaza de la Mezquita in Arroyo de la Miel, and also the Plaza La Nogalera in Torremolinos, for an afternoon of traditional Irish folk ... dancing, music and the typical gastronomy of the Emerald Isle. Torremolinos' event lasted two days and included a performance by Euphoria, a U2 tribute band. Both parties were organised by the Irish Association Spain and the respective town halls.
