More performers sign up for music festival

The organisers of the Gibraltar Calling festival like to tantalise music lovers by releasing the names of the performers bit by bit in the months before the event in September, and the latest exciting news is that David Essex, Nazareth, Slade and ... Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel have confirmed that they will be taking part. Next stage of the restoration of the Grand Battery beside Casemates Square is under way

A further stage of restoration works is being carried out on the Grand Battery, one of the key military monuments which formed part of Gibraltar's Northern Defences. Gibraltar marine police arrest three men at sea

Friends of Gibraltar visit the Mayor's Parlour

The Friends of Gibraltar group paid a visit to the Rock on Tuesday and their trip included a meeting with the mayor, John Gonçalves MBE. Whilst there, the group was able to see the Mayor's Parlour, a beautiful room which underwent major ... refurbishment in 2000, something which was made possible thanks to the fund-raising efforts of the Friends of Gibraltar. Environment staff take marine rescue course
