Really cool

ANDREW J. LINN

There are fewer more bucolic images than those of fisherman relaxing on a riverbank, enjoying the beers they had left in the water to cool earlier. However, unless it is a mountain stream flowing down from cooler altitudes, it is unlikely the ... that a bottle cooled in a horizontal position takes half the time of one that is standing up. It is really much quicker to cool wine in the glass, so best to keep a tray of ice cubes made from white wine in the fridge, or frozen grapes. Many of the villages have outdoor municipal pools which are open most days

Too cool for fuel

Peter Edgerton

...was the first joint we saw and , well, let's face it, fuel is fuel (unless it's sushi in which case it's raw fish and, consequently, an abomination). Now, here's the interesting thing - with remarkable sleight of hand, this earnestly cool

Underground is cool

Jennie Rhodes

Nerja’s famous caves are a favourite among visitors and locals alike, while Rincón de la Victoria’s Cueva del Tesoro is a relatively unknown secret, despite being the only marine cave in Europe. An underground favourite Quite possibly the only pl

War of the rosés

ANDREW J. LINN

Los Aguilares bodega has beaten every wine (nearly 2,000 in all) in the PN Challenge in Switzerland. It is a grape best suited to cool climates but winemaker Bibi García has pulled off another sensation. Around 26 euros. It is best not to enter into the
