Anyone who has travelled to several international airports will have realised that the airport codes tend to be based on the letters of the city's name: Madrid is MAD, Barcelona is BCN, Brussels is BRU, and so on. Dense fog leads to diversion of flights due to land in Malaga

...lack of visibility, no aircraft could depart from any other airport if it was due to land at Malaga. During the afternoon and evening, 20 flights were diverted to Seville and Granada and another 14 were delayed and remained in their airports of origin ... until the fog lifted.
