The iconic Moorish castle in Gibraltar is illuminated in blue every evening in tribute to the health workers and essential services, but on Tuesday night some of the lighting didn't appear to be working and when technicians went to investigate they discovered that someone had gained access to the Old Prison from the area known as 'the Jungle' and interfered with the equipment.
The door had been left open and the rain had made the cables wet, but these were dried with heat blowers and the lighting system has now been restored.
The police were informed and an investigation is under way.
