Some of the staff at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Climate Change recently took a marine mammal rescue course which was organised by BDMLR, the British Divers Marine Life Rescue association.

After completing the theory part of the course, the Gibraltar volunteers took part in practical sessions at Catalan Bay, using life-sized water-filled dolphin and whale models.

They are now certified marine mammal medics.
