Two more fixed speed cameras have been installed in Gibraltar, bringing the total to six.
The latest additions are in Queensway and Waterport Wharf Road. All six fixed speed traps are now equipped with rear facing cameras which will capture any motor bike breaching the speed limit. Unless otherwise stated, the speed limit in Gibraltar is 50 kms per hour, and for HGVs and public service vehicles such as buses it is 35 kph.
Gibraltar's Minister of Transport, Paul Balbán, says the aim of the speed cameras is to make the roads safer for everybody, including pedestrians, and to reduce fuel emissions from vehicles.
