For the first time ever, MTV UK has entered into partnership with the Gibraltar government and will be promoting and broadcasting September's music festival under the name of 'MTV Presents Gibraltar Calling'.

The music festival, which MTV describes as "an outdoor live music spectacular" will take place on September 2nd and 3rd, and will feature well-known artists from the British and international music scene. The performers will be announced at a later date.

"With its sunny climate and stunning views, Gibraltar is a fantastic location for an outdoor live music event and we're really looking forward to working with the Government of Gibraltar to showcase what Gibraltar has to offer to our youth audience," commented Mark Swift, senior vice-president, Commercial and International Ad Sales, VIMN UK. The minister for culture, Steven Linares, says this is an exciting new development for Gibraltar's cultural life, and this fantastic new collaboration with MTV will take the festival to a new level.
