Rafael García and Adrián Rosa, students at the Escuela de Hostelería La Cónsula, have been awarded first prize in the 2019 edition of the Joven Chef Sabor a Málaga competition which was held last week at the Salón H&T in the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Malaga.
A special jury, chaired by the historian and gourmet Fernando Rueda, judged the work of the contestants, all of whom were students of catering colleges in the province.
Second prize was shared by José Francisco Marín and Miguel Martín from the Escuela de Hostelería in Benalmádena La Fonda and José Luis Martín and Jorge Molina from the Escuela de Hostelería Costa Del Sol in Estepona. Third prize went to Silvia Huete and Francisco Palomo from the Escuela Castillo del Marqués.
The competition was the climax of the Salón de Hostelería y Turismo, organised by Fernando Rueda, which brought together 15 chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants and some of the best national and international sommeliers for workshops and 'showcookings'.
