Sixteen people, among them two of Andalucía’s most senior banking figures, have been named as new suspects in the Junta fraud case
Judge Mercedes Alaya, has named the president of Unicaja, Braulio Medel, as a new suspect in the ongoing Junta de Andalucía ‘caso ERE’ embezzlement scandal.
Medel was a member, for seven years, of the governing body of the IDEA agency who were involved in the illegal payments of ERE funds (meant for mass company lay-offs).
Also named as a suspect is another senior member of Andalucía’s banking world, José María Bueno Lidón, who is the former head of Caja El Monte.
Among the 16 new suspects is the president of Malaga’s Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía or PTA, Felipe Romera, and a number of other important figures in the Junta.
