A new palace is to be built by a Syrian who plans to construct one large three story residence and 29 others for his entourage
The green light is expected to be given for the construction of an estate known as Alkhaldía in the Nagüeles area of Marbella.
A modification has been made to the initial plan by the Ayuntamiento so that instead of 45 properties, there will only be 29.
Furthermore, according to the agreement the developers must give the town 2,700 square metres of land - an area that will remain as green zone - as compensation. In exchange a cul-de-sac that was originally in the middle of the land will be left off the plans. The changes come after the modification of the urban development plan in Marbella (PGOU) so that the estate meets with the requisites to house a ‘royal palace’.
The new project is located next to the palace that was the previous abode of the late King Fahd of the Saudi royal family. The Al-Riyad palace also forms part of the complex in which Prince Salman has a home.
The main palace can only have three storeys and the surrounding properties to be used by the occupants’ entourage can have no more than two floors.
