Bioparc gibbon in need of a name
The endangered Northern White-Cheeked Gibbon. :: SUR
A baby Northern White-Cheeked Gibbon wasborn at Fuengirola’s Bioparc at the end of last year. The gibbon, native to northern Vietnam, is an endangered species and can only be seen in Spain at the Bioparc wildlife centre.
Bioparc represents a different concept of zoo in which the animals’ natural habitat is recreated so that visitors are able to learn about how they live. The park has three habitats each with a range of species: Madagascar, Equatorial Africa and Southeast Asia.
The baby gibbon, however, is still without a name. SUR in English readers are able to vote on what it shall be called and give themselves a chance of winning two ‘Berde!’ season (worth 43 euros each) passes which provide access to the park for the whole year.
