Cards for Christmas
The artists involved are all local and their work can be seen until the new year.
A collection of original Christmas-themed artwork has opened in Mijas as part of SUR in English’s 30th anniversary celebrations with every design being reprinted as Christmas postcards to raise money for charity. 24 artists were commissioned by SUR to create the Christmas-themed works.
The collection was opened last night, Thursday the 12th of December, by Mijas’s mayor, Ángel Nozal, who was joined by SUR’s directors and some of the artists who painted pieces for the project.
The money collected from the sale of the postcards will go towards a charity fund set up by SUR, Unicaja, the city council of Malaga and El Corte Inglés.
The associations that will benefit from the fund this year are La Ciudad de los Niños, Proyecto Hombre, Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche, Emaus, Distrito de El Palo and El Centro del Doctor Linares Pezzi.
This is the 16th time the initiative has taken place with the postcards being available to buy in any kiosk selling SUR.
