The restaurant “Los Mellizos” offer portions on their 15 Golden Days of Fried Fish. This offer will take place between 17th & 31st October 2012

If you have taken part in our quiz, maybe you had the possibility of winning a free portion of fried fish in the restaurants of Los Mellizos for this promotion. Only 3 questions needed to be answered and a free portion was on offer for each of the lucky winners.
This is the fifth year that the 15 Golden Fried Fish Days are being held, this is the second year the 5 family restaurants will be participating in this event: Los Mellizos, located in Málaga Centre, La Carihuela (Casa Juan), Puerto Marina (El Mero), Benalmádena Costa (Saint Tropez) and Benalmádena Puebo (La Nave).
The 15 days take place from the 17th to the 31st October, and there are 20 distinct varieties of fried fish available. Among those are specialties of the house which aren’t on the normal menu, but are very popular with diners, such as: fried Skate, Plaice, Mediterranean Scald fish and fried Octopus. Of course, the most traditional dishes are also available: Anchovies, Squid, Baby Squid, Whitebait, Shrimp Omelettes and Red Mullet.
Following previous years of success, the organizers estimate that during these 15 Golden Days, they will serve more than 5,000 portions of fish, which accumulates to an estimated 1,200 kilos of fish.
Throughout this promotion, the organizers will be maintaining the same quality and quantity of portions that they normally serve, at a reduced price of 6 euros for this promotion. This enables diners to sample a wider range of varieties of fish dishes. This promotion is also in collaboration with Cruzcampo, Coca Cola and the official wine at this year’s event is Marqués de Villalúa.
Experience
These restaurants form part of a large family business and Los Mellizos have vast experience at organizing this type of gastronomy event, such as the Rice Days at Casa Juan which is now in its fifth successive year.
Some interesting history of Los Mellizos business, going back to the 1950’s, when Casa Pascual founded a marine tavern in La Malagueta, years later they concentrated their business as fishmongers and in the 1980’s Saint Tropez started La Nave, which expanded to Casa Juan in La Carihuela, a restaurant which today is the star of this Málaga business with capacity for more than 600 diners.
