Cycle ride from Malaga to Seville brings home the money.
Members of Amappace (a Malaga association formed by families affected by cerebral palsy) were given a warm welcome in Seville when they arrived after their journey from Malaga, via Ronda, by bike and wheelchair. Members of the association made the 200 kilometre journey on bicycles specially adapted to push a wheelchair alongside them, in protest at the several months in which associations like theirs have gone without essential funding, due to the Junta de Andalucía withholding payments. On arrival in Seville, Amappace received a message of hope: the Junta had promised to set up a payment schedule and would pay 50 per cent of the money owed to all disability associations, around 40 million euros in total, within the next few days.
