Alexandra Burke. Headlining the Rockin Marbella mini-festival this august.
Star and winner of the 2008 UK X Factor competition, Alexandra Burke, 22, will be headlining the Rockin Marbella mini-festival this coming August.
Featuring exciting acts from the UK talent show scene, including Afro-haired guitar-wielding Jamie Archer and the astonishing dance troupe Diversity, this one-off show is bringing some of the hottest acts around to the Puerto Banús bullring in Marbella.
Alexandra, whose already platinum-selling collection of hit singles include ‘All Night Long’, ‘Bad Boys’ and ‘Broken Heels’, will take to the stage to perform the songs that recently saw her nominated for Mobo and Brit awards. Her first single, Hallelujah, sold 105,000 copies on its first day, and later over one million, the first for a UK female solo artist, securing her place as one of Britain’s hottest emerging talents of this decade.
Also appearing are Diversity, the street dance group lead by Ashley Banjo, who famously beat Susan Boyle to win the third series of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. Since then, they have become an Internet phenomenon, with their routines regularly attracting tens of millions of Youtube hits. They will be performing here on the Costa del Sol fresh from a sold-out tour of Europe.
Joining them, between electrifying DJ sets are The Scarletz, a four piece vocal harmony group. The sassy all female quartet have gained quite a following by writing and composing their own music, drawing influences from opera, jazz, ska and almost everything in-between.
Rounding off the star-studded bill is Jamie Archer, whose husky up-tempo rock ballads made him a hit on this year’s festival circuit. The London-born singer will perform in the region for the first time, having been a finalist in the 2009 X Factor series, before an after party hosted by Pangea Nightclub where VIP guests can mingle with the bands and dance until dawn.
