"No special treatment" for Obama visit
Roadworks. Access to the hotel has been improved. / Josele-Lanza
In a statement from The Whitehouse, Washington, it was asked that business should run as normal during the visit to Marbella by the First Lady and her guests. “Their only request is for no special treatment. They want everything to be as normal as possible during their stay, at no time did we ask for the hotel to be shut to the public.”
However plans to resurface various roads and a visit by invitation to the King and Queen somewhat contradict this idea. Work has begun on roads around the Villa Padierna, where the visit will coincide with an 800 euro a ticket charity gala, organized by actors Eva Longoria and Antonio Banderas.
