SUR_and SUR_in English staff with the mayor and members of the corporation. / A. SALAS
The Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, and members of the corporation paid tribute to SUR_in English this week in recognition of its 25th anniversary, in the presence of dignitaries including the British Consul and Vice Consul and representatives of Prensa Malagueña, publishers of SUR in English.
The Mayor praised the newspaper for what he called its benchmark journalism and “initiative and imagination” in the “invaluable service” of facilitating integration and contact among residents in the province of Malaga and beyond. He presented SUR in English with a model of the City Hall, “home to the people of Malaga, including SUR_in English readers”.
