Arrest. The suspect fired five shots at around noon on Tuesday. / A. SALAS
A 64 year old stateless Lebanese man was arrested in Malaga this morning after shooting at the British flag at the British Consulate building and throwing leaflets in the doorway.
The police say that five shots were heard in the area close to the bus station, and the suspect was arrested after trying to escape in his car. It has transpired that the man is involved in an ongoing dispute with the British authorities who will not allow him into the UK, which is where his children live. The Spanish authorities say that the 64 year old, identified as S. Y., has previously been arrested for forgery and making threats.
