To help boost flagging tourist numbers in recession hit times, the Balearic Islands Tourism Council have literally got Rafa Nadal on board. The world number two tennis player, who is from Mallorca, filmed the first part of the ad before setting off for the Rogers Cup tennis tournament in Montreal. Nadal has been paid 2 million euros for the campaign in which he sails around the Sa Ràpita, Estrenc and el cabo Salines waters between Mallorca and Cabrera.
Meanwhile yesterday at the Rogers Cup, Nadal made it through the second round as his opponent, compatriot David Ferrer, had to pull out in the first set with a knee injury.
