ANDY. Pushing hard at the end.
All the sponsorship for Andy Hunter’s London Marathon run has now been collected, with a generous £2,850 raised for Children with Leukaemia through online funding as well as cash and cheque donations.
Andy, who co-owns several bar/restaurants in Gibraltar, said, "I was returning to the London marathon after a break of 24 years; it went well until around 17 miles when the old knees became increasingly painful. Eventually I was unable to run on them but had to finish at a walking pace, hence a 5 hours 35 minutes finishing time. It makes my eyes water every time I look at this photo which was taken just before the finish - after I had persuaded the knees to run the last bit!"
