Mixing irony with expressionist brushstrokes at CAC Malaga
Artist Matías Sánchez alongside some of his works currently on show in the CAC. / CARLOS MORET
The Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (CAC) Malaga is currently showing an individual exhibition of works by Matías Sánchez called 'Elegidos para la gloria' (Chosen for glory). For this exhibition the artist from Seville has employed his characteristic Mediterranean irony, mixed it with expressionist brushstrokes, and concentrated less on an actual subject and more on painting.
Four large scale works and a collection of smaller paintings make up the exhibition which can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday until November 15th.
The permanent collection at the CAC, which can be found in Malaga city's Calle Alemania, can also be seen during the same opening times. Admission to the Contemporary Art Centre is free.
