The airline Ándalus started operating flights between Gibraltar and Madrid on April 30th. Initially the airline will cover the route using Embraer 145 type aircraft which seat just 50 passengers. Iberia abandoned the Gibraltar-Madrid connection last year, due to a lack of demand. Ándalus is also looking at the possibility of running new links between Gibraltar and Bilbao or Barcelona.
