Malaga gear up for the Real Madrid clash

Malaga play Real Madrid at home on Saturday night at home in La Rosaleda in a league match which promises to be at the very least challenging. Following their rather disappointing performance against Barcelona in Camp Nou a week and a half ago when several players were out because of injury it looks like Malaga could be fielding a full squad and boosting their chances against the team who are currently number two in the league table.
No player will not be allowed to play because of sanctions and Baha, Adrián and Manolo, who are carrying not too serious injuries, could well be fit in time for the match. Baha was called up by with his national team Morocco in their World Cup qualifier at the weekend and went with a doctor’s note recommending that he didn’t take part. He then duly came back to Malaga after being checked out by medical staff there.
In fact manager Antonio Tapia may be spoilt for choice for the opening line up. Calleja, Weligton, Adrián and Baha couldn’t play against Barcelona; Lolo, Duda and Cuadrado were out against Seville and in Getafe Lolo and Nacho had to stay on the sidelines. One big question on many a Malaga supporter’s lips is likely to be “Will the king of the cross Duda be on from the start?” The answer could depend on whether or not he comes back in fine form from Portugal’s World Cup qualifying matches.
The Malaga Real Madrid match was originally scheduled to be played on Palm Sunday but has been changed to Saturday so as not to coincide with the start of Malaga’s Holy Week processions.
For football fans thinking about going to La Rosaleda on Saturday night, the bad news is that there is not a single ticket left for the match which kicks off at 10 p.m. But the good news is that the game will be televised on Spanish TV channel La Sexta.
