On Friday 6th of March a wave of prayer will roll around the world as over 3 million people in over 170 countries celebrate the annual Women's World Day of Prayer.
This year the service has been prepared by the Christian Women of Papua New Guinea and emphasises the oneness in Christ despite language and cultural diversity. The extent of the unity in prayer is shown by the fact that the first service will begin at sunrise in Tonga and travel around the world until the sun sets in neighbouring Western Samoa. In the UK alone there will be 5,000 services.
The Women's World Day of Prayer Movement is interdenominational and supports educational and mission projects, particularly those concerned with women and children.
Locally the day will be celebrated on Friday 6th March at 4:30pm in St Andrews Church, Los Boliches, Fuengirola. Everyone is welcome women, children and, yes, even men. For more information contact the local co-ordinator Linda Hammond on 952494184
