Seventeen people belonging to an anti-fascist group, among them two minors, have been arrested for attacking a group of youths they believed were "skinheads". The attack took place on February 8th in Malaga's Paseo de los Curas (the area designated for outdoor drinking among youths). According to sources investigating the incident, a group of forty youths allegedly attacked five people they identified as skinheads, some of them from other Andalusian provinces.

The suspects are linked to a local anti-fascist movement and apparently arranged the attack via text message. The victims tried to escape in a taxi, and two of them suffered serious injuries and had to have stitches.

The aggressors tried to flee when they saw the police approaching, but seventeen were arrested. They are believed to belong to a group known for their anti-system, anarchistic ideology, referred to as 'Rash'.

On Friday, a group of sympathisers camped out in front of the city police station to demand the release of the suspects. "It was a fight", one of the demonstrators told SUR. "Perhaps four or five of them were there and participated but the rest of them weren't even there that night," he claims.
