Nearly three quarters of judges in Malaga province go on strike
Malaga judges outside the Ciudad de la Justicia. / SALVADOR SALAS
In the end 72.35 per cent of the judges in the province of Malaga have backed the national one day strike action today. According to the local strike committee 89 of the 123 judges in the province downed tools today as was planned two weeks ago.

In specific terms, 43 of the 56 judges in Malaga city, 31 of the 43 in other towns in the province and 15 of the 24 from the provincial court have not worked today.
In Marbella only one of the 13 judges in service opted to work; in Antequera none of the three worked; in Vélez-Málaga both judges opted to strike; in Torrox one of the two stayed away; in Fuengirola only two of the seven worked today; in Torremolinos it was the other way round with two of the eight going on strike and two of the three in Ronda supported the action as did both judges in Coín.
The judges associations have classed the action as "successful" in terms of the support it received and the minimum disruption caused as a result to the public.
