Where were you born?
Poole, Dorset, England
Why live in Marbella?
I like the cosmopolitan atmosphere and to stroll around the little back streets of the old town, maybe visit a couple of nice tapas bars along the way!
What’s the best thing that has happened in your professional life?
I achieved a life-long dream very early when I became a Walt Disney Character Artist.
Who is your favourite artist?
Claude Monet. I admire his ability and talent, his work is from the Impressionist era which is similar to my style of painting. His water lilies in particular have been of great inspiration to me in my art.
Tell us a goal you have set yourself for this year
To strive to be a better person to all around me, to be more patient and understanding. To do well in a new business venture and aspire to succeed when so many around are failing. I would like of course to sell some more paintings too!
Who is the most interesting person you have ever met?
I don’t have anyone that springs to mind to be honest, I find everyone I meet interesting in some shape or form. I love life full of its varied characters, some good and some others not so good!
What’s the most treasured item brought from home to Spain?
My Bible.
What brought you to Spain?
The light for painting is so good here compared to the drab grey that is so often the weather in the UK. I also love the sunshine and it was important for my children to have a more outdoor lifestyle.
How do you usually spend your weekends?
With my fantastic children mostly and with good friends the rest of the time. I am a Christian so I go to church on Sundays as well.
Define your character in five words
Loving, happy, kind, honest and generous.
