Cudeca recently honoured its volunteers for their support at this year’s Annual Reunion. ‘Travelling Companions’ Nessa and John Reeves from Nerja have raised in excess of 106,000 euros from the trips around Spain they have been organising for the last ten years. The couple were presented with a certificate and a Lladro candle holder at this year’s volunteers’ lunch at the Valparaiso Restaurant in Mijas. Veteran shop volunteers Katherine Demple (Fuengirola), Shirley Gibbons, and Barbara Swallow (Torremolinos) were also presented with a candle holder each for their service over the last five years. Last year’s “Soldier” Bea Thorington presented her tin helmet to this year’s recruits Lesley and Dirk van der Wardt. Lesley also works as a volunteer in the Estepona shop as well as taking care of 38 collection tins.
