Last Sunday 108 people crowded in to St Andrew’s church in Los Boliches to see the Rt Revd David Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Europe, confirm Sunday Oburota and Sunday Ogburu from St George’s Chaplaincy Malaga, and Lucy Mitchell and Angelina Exley from St Andrew’s Chaplaincy. The service was also attended by The Venerable David Sutch, Archdeacon of Iberia and Chaplain of St Andrew’s, and the Revd Peter Wolfenden, Chaplain of St George’s. After the service the bishop joined the congregation at a bring-and-share lunch, giving everybody a chance to chat with him. During a short but busy stay in the area, Bishop David met with the new Roman Catholic bishop of Malaga, Don Jesús Catalá Ibáñez, and discussions were held on a wide range of subjects, including the pastoral challenges facing the churches in an increasingly secularised Europe.
