Rafael is one of the residents who had to spend a couple of nights with relatives due to the damage caused to his home by the tornado which swept through Malaga city on Sunday. His family’s losses, however, were more than just material. Their two-year-old Yorkshire Terrier ‘Cuqui’ was sucked out of the window by the force of the tornado and the family were still looking for her on Tuesday.
“She barely weighed a kilo, so if the wind dragged the furniture across the floor, imagine what chance she had”, says Rafael.
The family live on the sixth floor so they hold out little hope of finding Cuqui alive. They do hope, however, that they will find her body when they are allowed onto an area strewn with tornado debris that has been cordoned off.
