Government rep in Malaga believes that Benalmádena shooting is a "one off"
Hilario López Luna (l) and Javier Carnero. / Y. M.
In a meeting with the Mayor of Benalmádena, Javier Carnero, yesterday afternoon, the Government Representative in Malaga, Hilario López Luna, said that Benalmádena is a "safe and quiet" place. The meeting was held after an Irishman was shot down and killed in the middle of the town's Calle Alemania on Saturday night.
López Luna said that the shooting was a "one off" and although it is "difficult to avoid these crimes occurring, the police are working continuously so that they don't happen."
The Government Representative also said that the level of organised crime in the province of Malaga had decreased down to the efforts of the "police force" and that "the crimes of the last few days are not related."
Finally he explained that it still looks as if the Saturday night shooting was a settling of criminal scores and that the investigation is "ongoing." The police are currently carrying out tests on the car which the gun man escaped in and later abandoned in the Torrequebrada area.
