Around four hundred guests attended the recent wedding of José Vázquez, from Marbella, and Claudia Poppenhager, from Germany. The square in front of the La Encarnación church in Marbella was a mass of guests in traditional Andalusian dress. Among them were many German visitors as Claudia’s mother, Margot, runs a Spanish dancing school in Germany and many of her friends and pupils made the trip to attend the wedding. The bride resides here on the coast and met José (Pepe), an experienced horse rider, at a local riding stable. To add flavour to the occasion the bride and her father, Heinz, arrived in a classic coach and horses, with two attendants. Inside the church, voices from an Andalusian choir greeted the large congregation. The reception was held at the Hacienda de las Fuentes, Fuengirola, where a sumptuous meal was served under a large white marquee. Later a traditional Spanish group entertained the guests with live music.
