How to enter
By post: Fill in the form on page 11 of this week's SUR in English and post it to Fundación Cudeca, Apartado 5 F. D., 29631 Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena, Malaga.
Online: Visit www. cudeca.org and click on either “Donate now” for a one-off donation or “We need new friends” to become a regular benefactor. Mention the SUR in English appeal in order to enter the draw.
Deadline: Send in donations for the SUR in English appeal by November 21st.
Time is running out for SUR in English readers to get their names in the special draw for a weekend for two at the Posada del Torcal hotel and, more importantly, make a donation to Cudeca Cancer Care at the same time.
Donations made to Cudeca through the SUR in English appeal can be big or small, one-off or monthly. The important thing is that the foundation needs your help to be able to continue with its invaluable work with cancer patients either in their own homes or at the hospice and day centre in Arroyo de la Miel.
Donate online
Entering the draw is simple. You can either fill in the form on page 11 of this week's SUR in English (November 7th to 13th), and send it back to Cudeca by post or make a donation online via www.cudeca.org. If you wish to make a one-off donation click on “Donate now”, read the text and click on “Buy”. If you wish to donate more than ten euros, change the digit in the quantity box according to the desired number of ten euro units. Then fill in the required information and don’t forget to put “SUR in English appeal” in the “Notes” section in order to enter the draw. If you do not want your name to be published in SUR in English then also write “Anonymous” in this box.
Alternatively readers wishing to become a benefactor of Cudeca and make a regular monthly donation can still do this on the website and go in for the draw. Click on “We need new friends” and fill in the form. Put “SUR in English appeal” next to your name as well as “Anonymous” if you don’t want your name published along with the list of donors.
The winning name will be drawn out of the hat by Cudeca’s founder and president Joan Hunt.
We were all shocked when earlier this year Cudeca announced a deficit that could have meant the closure of the in-patient unit. The Costa del Sol reacted and, as Joan Hunt herself said in these pages in October, they are confident that the deficit will be reduced by the end of this year.
Now Cudeca needs the continued help of friends and supporters to be able to go on offering its palliative care programme into the future. No matter how small the donation, it all helps.
